Welocme

If you love to open a novel and step into a world more interesting than the one where you’re residing (presuming, of course, that you’re not Oprah or Martha Stewart), a novel involving charming locations, gardens, beautiful but flawed heroes and missing inheritances of art or music, then you’ve come to a site that will celebrate what I like to call ‘everyday vacations,’ stories that take you on a fun escape whether the journey is real or imagined. When I started writing, it was to create books that I wanted to read. Stories mixed with quirky families, tight-knit communities, light mysteries, and a heavy dose of romance, but at the same time, something I wasn’t embarrassed to let my daughter read. If you’re interested to see how those stories took shape click here to read my online serial (It’s short; you could probably wash the car in less time.) I also have started a blog where I can dish on books I’ve read, and maybe loved, along with daily issues. One thing I’ve learned is that friends tell friends what books are great and I’d be thrilled if you shared this blog or the online story with your friends. Just to keep things interesting, there’s a sequel to the online story in the works. Check back each week to read a new chapter and enter the contest to name the sequel.

If you cannot read all your books, at any rate . . .peer into them, let them fall open where they will, read from the first sentence that arrests the eye, set them back on the shelves with your own hands, arrange them on your own plan so that you at least know where they are. Let them be your friends, let them be your acquaintances. Winston Churchill, 1874-1965
